Kehlani Releases Girl Power Anthem 'CRZY'
It hasn’t been a good year for Kehlani. The 21-year-old singer went through some personal struggles, both publicly and privately, as she battled with depression following a suicide attempt. But the R&B songbird has persevered and is stronger than ever on her just-released single called “CRZY.”
Produced by the female songwriting/production tandem Novawav, the bouncy, girl-power anthem features the Bay Area native delivering her testmonials of overcoming challenges that comes with being an independent woman.
“Everything I do, I do it with a passion / If I gotta be a bitch, I’ma be a bad one / I’m A-I with the designs, du-ragging / Bounce back game two, why we talking’ about practice? / Yeah, Yeah, Yeah,” she sings.
Kehlani drives the message home on the chorus, singing, “Live for the challenge, only makes me stronger / One more reason to turn up on ’em / I go, I go, I go, crazy, crazy.”
“CRZY” is the first single from the Grammy-nominated singer’s upcoming debut album, which is due out later this year. You can cop the song on iTunes right now.
In addition, Kehlani has another song, “Gangsta,” which appears on the Suicide Squad: The Album soundtrack, dropping on Aug. 1.
