Joe Budden Responds to Drake With Fiery Bars on 'Afraid'
Hours after Drake called Joe Budden a “one-hit wonder” on French Montana’s “No Shopping,” Budden quickly respond with his own diss track to the 6 God called “Afraid.”
For the record, this is the New Jersey rapper’s third diss track at Drake following, “Making a Murderer Part 1” and “Wake.”
For “Afraid,” Budden enlists beatmakers Karon Graham and AraabMUZIK to give him a bombastic production of ethereal synths, pianos and clashing drums. The song also samples Drake’s “The Resistance” from his debut album, Thank Me Later.
The nearly six-minute tune features Budden delivering fiery bars at Drizzy calling him a “puppet” and sending a stern warning to him and his crew not to test him.
“If pushed to the streets, I see wood in your physique,” he raps. “Thinking you misunderstood my hood, this isn’t Meek n—- / This ain’t a standard that you couldn’t meet / Just from your views, you prolly couldn’t see.”
Even the song’s cover art is brutal as it shows smoke billowing from the CN Tower, the same Toronto landmark that appears on the album cover of Drake’s Views.
This is far from over. But it looks like the Drake and Joe Buden rap feud is heating up.
