Jim Jones Addresses Moving Past Issues With Jay Z In Order To Sign With Roc Nation
(AllHipHop News) Many Hip Hop followers were surprised when news broke that Jim Jones signed a deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation.
The two New Yorkers have a turbulent history that stems back to the early 2000’s.
At the time, Jones and his Dipset brethren were part of the Roc-A-Fella Records family, but tension with Jay escalated when the Roc split up.
However, Jim and Jay have been able to move past the beef in order to do business together now.
“The fact that people are ready to forget the past and help me move forward to the next step of my career is very inspiring,” said Jim Jones in a statement. “As you get older you realize that most of your peers are either dead or in jail. The fact that we can move passed the BS is a testimony of how much we have grown.”
Jones joins another ex-Jay rival who recently signed with Roc Nation.
Fat Joe is also being managed by the company after once having friction with Jay Z as well.
Roc Nation is now set to oversee all Jim Jones platforms including music, fashion, acting, and more.
The entertainment brand’s management wing also represents Angie Martinez, Big Sean, Cipha Sounds, DJ Khaled, Fabolous, Meek Mill, Rihanna, The Lox, and Yo Gotti.
