Isaiah Rashad Releases Melodic, Jazzy Song 'Free Lunch'
When TDE president Dave Free mysteriously tweeted an album release date for their next artist on its label, many fans speculated it could be Isaiah Rashad or Ab-Soul. Well, it looks like the mystery may be solved with the release of Rashad’s jazzy single, “Free Lunch.”
Produced by Cam O’bi, the track boasts fluttering guitars and melodic keyboards. On the song, the Tennessee rapper reflects on his homies and dimes he used to kick it with back in the days.
“In my hood we call it clout, f— ’bout what you think of me / All my hoes be nines and dimes, all she want is chicken grease / All you know is what your mammy taught you ’bout the surface, get your meal ticket, ticket, meal ticket, ticket, comma, uh,” he raps on the chorus.
There’s no official word if Rashad is the next artist to drop on TDE. But if that’s the case, this will be the 25-year-old rapper’s first full-length debut album, a follow-up to his Cilvia Demo EP, which dropped in 2014.
For now, this is a good appetizer to what should be Isaiah Rashad’s bountiful meal with his debut album.
