Frank Ocean Drops Surprise Cover of ‘Moon River’ [LISTEN]

Frank Ocean dropped off a surprise new song, a cover of “Moon River.”

The track was originally performed by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 classic, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The song is Frank’s first release of 2018, although he’s previously hinted that more new music will be dropping this year.

Back in January, the elusive singer went on Tumblr to possibly upcoming releases. Frank uploaded a photo on his Tumblr of a man wearing a hat that says, “If you liked 2017, you’ll love…2018.”

That wasn’t the first time he’d shared that message, in basically the same wording. In an essay he wrote in 2017 year for I-D, Frank also wrote, “If you liked two thousand and seventeen then you’ll love two thousand and eighteen.”

Adding to the mysteriousness, in another Tumblr message posted in late November 2017, he suggested that he did indeed accomplish his goal of creating five albums before he turned 30.

“‘Well I made the album before 30. I JUST AINT PUT THAT BITCH OUT!’ -quotes from an interview I haven’t given haha,” he wrote.

The singer initially set the five-album goal back in 2012 on on his since-deleted Twitter page. He turned 30 back in October and had already dropped four projects— nostalgia, Channel Orange, ULTRA and Endless.

So, this new drop could be the start of something good. We’ll have to see.

You can take a listen to the new track above.
