Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ Breaks Apple Music Streaming Record With 100 Million Streams

After a week of streaming, Cardi B’s debut album Invasion of Privacy is already smashing records. According to Variety, the LP broke Apple Music’s record for most-streamed album by a female artist in its first week.

The album garnered over 100 million streams last week, which is more than doubled those of the previous record-holder, Taylor Swift with her project Reputation. Cardi’s album is now the fifth most-streamed album ever on Apple Music, passing The Weeknd’s Starboy and Ed Sheeran’s Divide.

There’s no doubt that her album will debut atop of the Billboard 200 albums chart next week. In doing so, Cardi will be the fifth female rapper in history to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 tally behind Nicki Minaj (twice), Eve, Foxy Brown and Lauryn Hill.

Meanwhile, Cardi B earned her sixth top 10 single with “Be Careful.” The song debuted at No. 10 on Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this week. It’s also one of the most streamed songs with l20.6 million U.S. clicks, according to Nielsen Music, as it premiered at No. 12 on R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart.

Cardi B joins an illustrious list of artists who managed to collect six top 10 R&B/Hip-Hop singles. Among them include Bell Biv Devoe, Chris Brown, En Vogue, Diddy and the late R&B singer Gerald Levert.

Congrats to Cardi B on her chart achievements.
