Method Man & Lloyd Banks Partner On A New Song That’s Razor Sharp
Life is too short to listen to bad music. So…let Ambrosia For Heads sift through it for you and only supply you with that great stuff. Despite the reports, Hip-Hop is alive and well and, in many ways, it’s better than it’s ever been. Not only can we go back and listen to all of our favorites at the click of a button, but there is also a ton of great music still being made by artists, young and veteran alike…if you know where to look. To help with that task, we’ve created a playlist with recently released music. We update it regularly, so subscribe to follow us on Spotify if you like what you hear.
Last year, Lloyd Banks released his second album in as many years. Two volumes of The Curse Of The Inevitable reignited attention for the self-proclaimed Punchline King. Those LPs featured Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marciano featured, as well as Lloyd’s G-Unit cohort Tony Yayo. A third installment is coming as Lloyd asked fans when to release TCOTI3.

With Lloyd’s question came the project’s first single. “101 Razors” features Method Man from Wu-Tang Clan. Lambo Lloyd, who has previously worked with Raekwon, displays the kind of lyricism that Method Man has been laying down since the mid-1990s. “Killer before the shine, I came up that ni**a / I’m born to rhyme, make more, the corporate line / These chumps operatin’ on overtime / This is my quarter, dog, you eat what you slaughter,” raps the Queens, New York MC. Meth’ follows suit, with wordplay that uses artists’ names: “Legend be Boris Simon, you? / Just a busta before the rhyme / You primadonnas like a virgin Madonna, but borderline / Bunch of borin’ lines no one fallin’ for, so fall in line.”
The song is produced by Harlem’s V Don, who has worked with Banks for more than a decade. V Don has also supplied beats for A$AP Rocky, Willie The Kid, and 2 Chainz, among others.
