The Lady Of Rage Details The Serious Health Issues She’s Been Facing
Veteran MC and actress, The Lady Of Rage, has been battling some serious health issues this year. Over the weekend (August 4), the onetime Dr. Dre protege told the public just what has led to some concert cancellations in addition to pain and uncertainty in the Farmville, Virginia native’s life.
“Since September of 2017, I have been going back and forth to doctors and specialists for what started out as shortness of breath. Within that time I’ve been hospitalized five times,” wrote the former Death Row Records artist in an Instagram post.

Rage, who includes a photo with the lengthy post, continued, “Initially pneumonia was the diagnosis. Then I was told pneumonitis, to ‘We think you have lupus or sarcoidosis,’ to ‘You’re depressed, take this Prozac.’” She suggests that fibromyalgia, Sjorgens Syndrome and idiopathic interstitial lung disease with fibrosis,” have been other professional conclusions.
The artist who eventually transitioned to acting in films like Next Friday and Ride, reveals that she suffered a facial injury in the last month. “[On] July 6th, I was scheduled to perform at the Essence Fest and was very excited because this would have been my first time. As I walked into the hotel, I was cool. By the time I got to the counter, I knew something was wrong. I asked for some water, and the next thing I know, I’m hearing someone say, ‘Don’t move, and don’t touch your eye!’” She explains, “I had blacked out and fell face first into a cast iron frame at the front desk. Blacking out is called syncope, and this was my third and most damaging time. So as a result of that, I received nine stitches, a fractured eye orbit, and fractured the side of my nose.” She continues, “Nothing was found,” adding, “[The previous test] showed nothing besides the fibrosis. One of the staff said ‘You’re a medical mystery.’” The “Afro Puffs” creator says she expects and needs something more concrete. “So as it stands, I’m trying to find the proper diagnosis and the proper treatment.” Rage notes an outpouring from her fans. “For those of you who pray for me, please continue to do so. For those of you who send me well wishes, please continue to do so. I’m kind of a private person, revealing this is a big step for me.”
