Ja Rule Reportedly Owes Over $360,000 in Back Taxes
DMX is not the only rapper running afoul of the Internal Revenue Service. Ja Rule reportedly owes the IRS a whopping $360,000 in back taxes.
According to Bossip, the former Murder Inc. rapper was hit with a tax lien last month for a total of $363,269 for income earned between 2014 and 2015.
However, the IRS apparently has filed multiple liens against Ja Rule for not paying his taxes for over a decade.
It started in 2013 when the IRS claimed that Ja Rule owed $1.7 million for nonpayment of taxes from 2004 through 2008. Then in 2015, the IRS claimed that the rapper didn’t pay $92,728 in back taxes for the year 2012. In that same year, the feds said Ja failed to pay an additional $89,913 in outstanding tax debt for the tax year 2013.
According to Bossip, there are no documents to prove that 42-year-old rapper has paid any of the aforementioned tax bills.
Ja Rule better take heed to DMX’s tax plight. As you may know, the veteran rhymer was sentenced to one year in prison for tax fraud. On top of that, DMX has to pay $2.3 million in restitution.
So far, in 2018, the taxman has visited Gucci Mane, Lil’ Kim and Flavor Flav for overdue taxes.
Reps for Ja Rule had no comment on the matter.
