U-God Can’t Let Wu-Tang’s Saga Continue Without Getting Involved. He Joins A Remix (Audio)
Founding Wu-Tang Clan member U-God is missing from this year’s The Saga Continues album. Following his $2.5 million lawsuit against RZA and management over unpaid royalties, the MC appeared more than a golden-arm’s length away from the rest of his brothers. Meanwhile, longtime Wu family members like Redman, Cappadonna, and Killah Priest stepped in to bring home the LP with beats by Mathematics, and executive production by RZA.
However, things are stirring up for the positive. Method Man & Redman released “Hood Go Bang” on the fall LP. After Meth’ did his part in a multi-song video, the Clan drops a remix that now involves Raekwon and U-God. The appearance to the Mathematics-produced single shows that Golden Arms is back in the circle, and perhaps further legitimizes what many consider the best Wu album in some years. The Saga Continues, and this gesture makes U-God part of it.

U-God Spits Venom Toward Some Wu-Tang Brothers But Warns No One Else Can (Audio)
Originally just a 90-second spot, the “Hood Go Bang (Remix)” makes for a fuller moment. Raekwon follows M-E-T-H-O-D’s original verse and the Funk Doc chorus. U-God closes it out with his distinct vocal. He pays homage to a classic Special Ed “I Got It Made” line, and then tries a few unconventional rhyme patterns of his own. For those closely following the ins and outs of Wu-Tang, there appears to be no signs of a family feud.
U-God is presently working on his memoir (planned for 2018) and a remix tape with DJ Green Lantern.
#BonusBeat:AFH recently spoke with DJ Mathematics in Los Angeles, California. He explained creating this album in the image of RZA’s work on Wu’s debut, as well as another classic from Dr. Dre:
