Kanye West Ends Show After Learning Kim Kardashian Was Held At Gunpoint (Video)
This weekend, two major festivals were being held in the New York City area. The Roots hosted their first ever New York version of their annual picnic, featuring D’Angelo, Wu-Tang Clan, Swizz Beatz, EPMD, The Jungle Brothers, Big Daddy Kane, and many others. Across the river, in Queens, the Meadows Music & Arts Festival was taking place, with J. Cole, Chance The Rapper, Pusha T, Mac Miller and more taking the stage over the course of the 2-day festival.

In addition to great music from some of the world’s biggest artists, the Meadows festival held a fair amount of drama. At the end of his set on Saturday night, J. Cole made an unexpected announcement. “New York City,” Cole said. “Before I get out of here, listen. This is my last show for a very long time.” It is unclear why Cole is taking a break, or whether “a very long time” means months or years, as he did not expound further.

Tonight brought similar suspense, as Kanye West ended his set early, and exited the stage hurriedly. Prior to leaving, he told the audience “I’m sorry, there’s a family emergency, I have to stop the show.” Now, CNN is reporting that the family emergency to which West was referring was news that he received about his wife, Kim Kardashian West, being held at gunpoint by two men in Paris. “Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. She is badly shaken but physically unharmed,” spokesperson Ina Treciokas told CNN.
