Since it’s unlikely we’ll ever hear new music from Lil Wayne, producer Streetrunner decided to update one of Weezy’s earlier tunes from his mixtape days. On Thursday (Oct. 27), the producer released a remastered version of “1 Night Only,” which originally appeared on Wayne’s 2007 mixtape, The Drought Is Over.

Streetrunner provided some context to the song on his Soundcloud page. It reads:

“This song was made circa May 2006. Wayne recorded One Night Only and RappaPomPom the same night within hours of passing him my beat tape. One Night Only was on hold for Tha Carter 3 until it eventually leaked. Mixed and mastered by Tommy Peluso.”

Over a sped-up sample of Jennifer Hudson’s version of “One Night Only,” Tunechi details a love affair with a groupie while on the road.

“She always dream about me, wish she could sleep forever / She get her fit together, she get her s— together / After my concert, she wanna get together / I get her on my bus, we chill and sit together / She has no curfew, I can take the bitch wherever / Come off a bit respectful, I’m on a different level / I got her feelin special, then she remember, she got…(one night only),” he raps.

If you are feeling nostalgia for some Mixtape Weezy, this song should do the trick. Hopefully, we can get some new music from Lil Wayne before year’s end.
